shaped by place
I grew up in Dunoon and genuinely cannot imagine living anywhere else. Argyll is in everything I do – the music I teach, the glazes I choose. The colours of the water on a grey November morning, the gorse in May, the lichen on the rocks.
I teach Scottish fiddle both online and in person – individual lessons and group classes for ages 5 and upwards. I also teach early years musicianship for children aged 0 to 5. Alongside Holli Scott, another Dunoon fiddler, I organise Ceòl on the Clyde, an immersive fiddle weekend that brings people together in this landscape.
As well as teaching, I play with Mac-talla Ceilidh Collective, Overfall, and in sessions and other projects across the region.
The pottery grew from the same impulse – making things by hand that connect to this place and its music. Everything is made in Dunoon from stoneware clay.

Gaelic is a big part of my family life. My husband grew up through the Gaelic medium and our little one will do the same. I am a learner and love feeling the connection between the language, the music and the landscape.
