Teaching

Scottish
Fiddle

Individual lessons online and in person, group classes, and early years musicianship from birth.

The Teaching

Learning fiddle
in person or online

I teach Scottish fiddle both online and in person. I love working with complete beginners who have never touched an instrument, and equally with more experienced players wanting to deepen their connection with the fiddle. I teach primarily by ear, rooted in the Scottish tradition, learning the way the music has always been passed on. Whatever your age, background or level, get in touch and we can discuss.

How it works

Online or in person

In-person lessons usually take place across Argyll, but I am happy to travel or arrange teaching in other locations. Online lessons work well for fiddle and I teach students across Scotland and beyond via video call. Group classes and workshops are in person only.

In Person

Individual lessons, group classes and workshops across Argyll. Happy to discuss other locations too.

Online

Individual lessons via video call. Works well and I teach students across Scotland and beyond.

Fiddle weekend

Ceòl on the Clyde

Ceòl on the Clyde is an immersive fiddle weekend on the banks of the Clyde, organised by me and Holli Scott, a fellow fiddler from Argyll. It brings together players of all levels for a weekend of music, sessions, teaching and community.
